Richard Anderson, Senior Consultant
Dick has over 30 years of combined experience in both private industry and the consulting sector. He has extensive experience in maintenance management, operations improvement, and continuous flow manufacturing. Dick has worked and consulted in the metal working, fabrication, pharmaceutical, plastics, and utilities sectors. He has been involved in start-up, turnaround, and growth situations. In addition to his professional skills, Dick brings to clients the perspective of one who has held a spectrum of positions, ranging from hourly worker to plant manager. He is a Certified Management Consultant, Registered Professional Engineer, Certified Manufacturing Engineer, and Certified MTM Applicator. He holds a BSIE from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA from Bryant College.

Kevin M. Barry, Senior Consultant
Mr. Barry has over 23 years of procurement and contacts expertise. Mr. Barry has built a successful consulting career, providing strategic procurement consulting and implementation services that reduce purchasing expenditures and streamline internal procedures. Mr. Barry has worked with numerous organizations to re-organize their procurement departments and train staff regarding different strategic sourcing methods and negotiation tactics. As an industry leader he has built and managed successful purchasing, subcontracts, and vendor relations departments for commercial, e-commerce and government focused companies. He adopts current technologies and other procurement methods to allow purchasing professionals to increase efficiency and lower costs through the development, integration and implementation of numerous effective-purchasing strategies. He is a proven expert in strategic sourcing as well as organizational design. Mr. Barry has an MBA in Management from John’s Hopkins University and a BSBA in Contracts and Grant Management from the American University.

Zig Berzins, CMC, CDP, CISP, Senior Consultant
Zig is a senior consultant with over 30 years of consulting experience in both private and public sector information technology. He has a broad industry experience base including manufacturing, retail, services, utilities, and transportation in the private sector. In the public sector, Zig has worked with all levels of government (federal to local), higher education, courts, utilities, and K-12. He has worked with most technologies and has successfully led hundreds of information technology related projects. He brings not only strategic perspectives to his engagements, including information technology governance, performance enhancement and business alignment but also has a proven ability to work into the details of a technology project. Zig has been involved in start-up, turnaround, merger, and growth situations. He is a Certified Management Consultant, has his Certificate in Data Processing and is a Certified Information Systems Professional. Zig is a member of APICS, ISACA, AGA and GFOA. David W. Bohy, Senior Consultant
David specializes in management and organizational development consulting including leadership development, human resource strategic development, compensation, human resource policies, benefits, employee communications, employee surveys, customer satisfaction services, team building, and strategic planning. Prior to consulting, he served as vice president, Human Resources for Lifespan Corporation, an integrated health care system; vice president of Miriam Hospital; HR manager for Digital Equipment Corporation; HR director of McLean Hospital; and personnel manager of National Research Corporation. David has a BA from Aurora University and completed the Executive Development Program at Harvard University. He has taught graduate level management programs at Clark University, Harvard University/Radcliffe College and Bryant College in Rhode Island. He is a certified senior professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Personnel Accreditation Institute.

Richard Carpino, CMC, CPIM, Senior Consultant
Richard is a certified management consultant with over 33 years experience specializing in operating systems for manufacturing and distribution companies. His background includes ERP and logistics systems evaluations, and design and implementation of inventory management systems, including logistics systems assessment and feasibility studies, inventory management system implementation, transportation cost analysis modeling, inventory modeling for reduction programs, materials organizational development, supply chain cycle reduction, education and project management. Richard has consulted on projects with more than 50 companies and has also lectured on production/operations management at colleges and universities in Connecticut. He has worked in numerous countries including the US, Canada, Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Thailand, and several countries in Europe. He holds a BA in finance from the University of Connecticut and an MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

John F. Doherty, Senior Consultant
John is a certified management consultant with over 20 years experience in operating systems for manufacturing, service, and distribution companies. He specializes in operations improvement, quality improvement, lean manufacturing, and production inventory control (JIT) for several industries categories. His strong process knowledge coupled with extensive program development and implementation, combined with his professional ability allow him to work smoothly and unobtrusively with all management levels. John has completed projects with more than 25 organizations, including several Fortune 500 companies throughout the US. He holds a BA in sociology from the University of New Hampshire and a Master of Arts in education from Antioch College.

Christine M. Fahnstock, Senior Consultant
Chris has a 20 year track record of human resources experience and innovation specializing in executive succession planning, executive selection, high potential identification, sophisticated management assessment, and selection systems. She has effectively managed the succession planning activities for several CEOs. Chris also designs and consults on the use of 360° surveys to support development of key talent. Some of her clients include Hartford College for Women, YWCA, State of Connecticut, New England Gas Association, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Delta Faucet Company, Sprint, and Seabrook Nuclear Station. Chris holds an MS degree in organizational behavior and a BS degree in education and has providing counseling at the Leadership Development Program of the Center for Creative Leadership. In addition, she has presented at numerous conferences and collaborated with other experts in management assessment and succession planning.

Michael J. Garofalo, Senior Consultant
Mike has compiled over 25 years consulting experience with special emphasis on maintenance management and all disciplines necessary for an effective maintenance organization. He has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical, utilities and chemical industries providing hands-on project management and direction. Mike is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College.

Steven T. Gilbert, Senior Consultant
Steve has a broad range of experience participating in and leading projects to improve organizational effectiveness and performance. He has developed and implemented human resource strategies in wide variety of utility, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and consumer products organizations. Steve has created and conducted a wide range of employee and labor relations strategies in both union and non-union environments, including leading more than 100 contract negotiations for both single and multi-employer bargaining processes. He has also sponsored continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives, which have transformed manufacturing, logistics, and R&D activities. Prior to consulting, Steve was a senior manager with PECO Energy where he, led major initiatives to restructure HR operations, policies, and processes. Formerly, he served as vice president/HR for Messer Industries, a US-based industrial and medical gasses subsidiary of Aventis. In this position, he managed the integration of Messer’s multiple European businesses into a single operating entity; developed a change model for process realignment, and cultural integration issues; developed new technology initiatives; and restructured performance management assessment and compensation systems. He is a graduate of the University of California in economics and has conducted development programs on executive leadership, team leadership and effectiveness.

Kenneth E. Golden, C.P.M., CPIM, Senior Consultant
Ken has served industry and government for more than 30 years as a manager and consultant in the purchasing, manufacturing and systems fields. His experience includes multiple roles as a project manager for manufacturing systems implementations; procurement systems manager for a multi-billion dollar computer firm; and consultant and manager for projects involving inventory, procurement and manufacturing issues. Ken’s knowledge and experience include automotive, pharmaceutical, plastic, electrical, steel, wood, foam, fiber, food, heavy equipment, publishing, and consumer products. He holds certifications from both purchasing and manufacturing professional societies. He has conducted seminars and has published articles in their professional books and journals. Ken received a BSE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and an MBA in Operations Management from the University of California at Berkeley.

Mike Gourd, Senior Consultant
Mike has over 15 years of experience helping organizations to improve their performance in distribution network design, inventory management, procurement processes, supply chain planning, transportation effectiveness, and warehousing. His clients have included major companies in several industries, including food, electronics, paper, publishing, and chemicals. Mike was previously a Principal at Mercer Management Consulting, and a Manager at A.T. Kearney. He has also held distribution analysis and management positions at two third-party transportation companies, and he was a Logistics Strategy Manager with Xerox. Mike is a member of the CLM and has been a speaker at CLM conferences. He has authored several articles on supply chain-related topics. He was also responsible for managing Mercer Management's internal Supply Chain Training program.

Gregory A. Hansen, Senior Consultant
Specializing in the areas of business process reengineering, strategic analysis and software engineering program management, Greg has more than 30 years of business experience. His background includes more than eight years as a strategic and reengineering consultant and 16 years managing the development of emerging software technologies. Greg is an entrepreneurial, results-oriented professional with a reputation for achieving optimum results and customer satisfaction. He is a proven leader with a record of building highly motivated and productive teams. In addition, Greg is the original developer of the BPR Library for Extend, a dynamic modeling and simulation tool offered by Imagine That, a software company in San Jose, California. The BPR Library is designed to increase the understanding of business process models by maximizing the use of standard flow charting symbology. Greg also authored Automating Business Process Reengineering: Using the Power of Visual Simulation Strategies to Improve Performance and Profit (Prentice Hall). This is a seminal book on the application of simulation to process analysis.

Reginald King, Senior Consultant
Reggie is a management consultant with over 23 years experience. His primary focus is operations performance and process redesign. He has participated and led projects in analysis, design and implementation of management systems resulting in enhanced productivity, quality, customer service, maintenance efficiency, management training, staffing, and reorganization. Reggie's industry experience includes banking, insurance, manufacturing, retail, pharmaceutical, utility and, most recently, government - both domestic and international. He relates effectively with top level executives while analyzing operating problems, initiating proactive resolutions and enhancing management leadership, moral, and accountability. Tully Moss, Senior Consultant
Tully is a seasoned marketing strategy consultant with 22 years of consulting experience in financial services. He has served major US and European financial services and insurance corporations such as Deutsche Capital, GMAC, Mutual of New York, Nord Deutsche Landesbank Protective Life, and WellPoint. Tully's consulting services include marketing and brand strategy development, business unit planning, e-commerce strategy development, competitor analysis and positioning, new product feasibility assessments, turn-arounds of troubled product lines, and evaluations of joint venture and strategic alliance opportunities. Steve Mueller, Senior Consultant
Steve has over 20 years of hands-on business management consulting experience. He has completed engagements with clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to medium size businesses. His extensive experience covers a wide range of industries addressing virtually all business processes from service to manufacturing, involving all levels of management from CEOs to supervisors. Steve's ability to design and implement management operating systems has reduced operating costs, improved quality and service, increased productivity, and improved management effectiveness. His adept analysis of work and information flow, as well as the assessment of management and work procedures facilitates the re-engineering process. Steve also has additional expertise developing staffing and resource requirements models and is accomplished in delivering management skills training and one-on-one coaching. Michael J. Negrón, Senior Consultant
Michael has more than 20 years experience consulting in various industries including finance, electronics, telecommunications, entertainment, online travel, and financial services. He has worked in several countries including the U.S., Latin America and Scandinavia. Michael's expertise in business process modernization helps companies to improve organizational effectiveness, develop cost analyses, and manage post-acquisition transitions. He also works with companies to provide interim CFO services. Michael has held executive management positions and consulted for firms including Priceline.com, Hubbell, CBS, Hilti, 3V Chemical, and Ashton Technology. He holds an MBA in International Finance from St. John's University and a BBA in Accounting from Baruch College. Michael served on the board for Rotary International and the Institute of Management Accountants. Currently, he sits on the board of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, and Casa Otoñal. Gina Ohanesian, Principal Consultant
Gina brings over 20 years of expertise and experience in the areas of organization and leadership development, productive work environments, employee skill building, customized group facilitation, and personality type. Gina specializes in fostering culture changes where individuals feel more empowered to be successful at their work. She designs and facilitates leadership and management development programs, customized meetings, interpersonal skills training, team effectiveness and process improvement programs. Gina is a certified trainer in Myers-Briggs, Zenger Miller, Corporate Cultural Assessment Tools, Corporate Transformation Tools, Team Building, Out-of-the-Box Facilitation, and Sterling International. Glen Parker, Senior Consultant
Glen has over 15 years consulting experience in all phases of plant maintenance including reliability-centered maintenance, mechanical integrity, preventive and predictive techniques computerized maintenance management programs and planning and scheduling. He has extensive experience in pharmaceutical, petrochemical, hydrocarbons and food processing industries.

Ted Pollock, Senior Consultant
Ted’s expertise is logistics strategy development, focusing on distribution strategy, distribution network design, and supply chain integration emphasizing a cross-functional team approach. He assists clients in P&L and balance sheet enhancements through assessment of logistics operations, inventory policies and management approaches. During his 26 years of consulting Ted has worked with many manufacturing and distribution organizations in a range of industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, office furniture, personal care and household products, chemicals, tobacco, and industrial components. Consulting affiliations includes Mercer Management Consulting and A. T. Kearney. Ted also was director of Logistics and Operations Planning for Brown & Williamson, and director of Logistics Planning for Nabisco Brands. He holds a BSEE and MSIE from New York University.

David Roitman, Ph.D., Senior Consultant
Dr. Roitman is senior consultants with more than 20 years experience helping clients manage change to produce business results including significant increases in revenues and productivity. His areas of expertise include organization design and development, process redesign, measurement development, and management alignment. He has led process redesign engagements at sixteen clients across nine different industries. His Fortune 1000 clients include FMC Corp., General Electric, General Motors, Johnson Wax, and Merck & Co., and his government clients include the Federal Aviation Agency, the National Science Foundation, the State of Michigan, and the U.S. Air Force. He holds a PhD and M.A., Psychology, Michigan State University focusing on organizational behavior and technological innovation and B.A., psychology, University of Arkansas.

Pietro (Pete) Savo
Pete is a principal consultant for Daniel Penn Associates with over 25 years experience in lean manufacturing, operations, engineering, quality systems (TQM), and material management. He is a certified lean manufacturing consultant with the Supplier Excellence Alliance (SEA) and a senior lean consultant with the U.S. Air Force Manufacturing Technical Assistance Program (MTAPP) where he developed Lean Manufacturing tools for creating productivity improvements in the DOD supply chain. Pete has published the following books: “PERFECTION - 10 Secrets to Successful Lean Manufacturing Implementation” and “Root Cause Analysis System for Problem Solving and Problem Avoidance.” Pete has worked extensively with the Sikorsky Aircraft division of United Technologies, in various management roles from engineering manager responsible for supply chain cost and productivity improvements, lean manufacturing initiatives, and quality control. Pete also co-founded the Cure Team a Sikorsky Aircraft failure analysis clinic project, specializing in Root Cause Analysis and he is also a former professor at Ito University. Pete holds an MAS degree in Human Factors/Aeronautical Engineering and a BA degree in Business Administration and is currently completing a Doctorate in Business Administration, 2011 (expected). Pete proudly served in the United States Navy.

Theron Simpson Jr., RCC, Senior Consultant
Theron is a consultant in Human Resource Management focusing primarily on human resource strategic planning, management development, diversity management, executive coaching, customer service development and change management. He has successfully led assignments in several industries including healthcare, high tech and manufacturing. Prior to becoming a consultant, Theron served as Director of Workforce Development at Hospital of Saint Raphael; Director of Human Resource at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center; and other senior management positions in the manufacturing and high tech industries. He also has been actively engaged in the facilitation of study circles on race relations and serving as Adjunct Professor at several colleges and universities in Connecticut where he lectures on human resource management and business management practices. He is member of several professional organizations and has held leadership positions on the Board of Directors for several not for profit organizations. Theron is a Registered Corporate Coach (RCC) helping individuals be their absolute best and achieve extraordinary results. He holds a Master's degree from Pepperdine University in Human Resource Management and is a graduate of Rensselaer at Hartford, where he received a Master's degree in Management with a concentration on Healthcare. Theron also holds a Bachelor's degree in History from Chapman University.

Howard L. Taylor, Senior Consultant
Howard is a certified management consultant specializing in business process improvement, information systems architecture and technology transfer. He conducts consulting studies, reengineers business processes, develops methods for developing software and courseware, and educates professionals in these same areas. Howard offers courses in the consulting process using a formal methodology. His specialties include utilities, transportation, manufacturing, data processing service bureau, and software development. Technical application experience includes computer integrated manufacturing (CIM), engineering and research, logistics and materials management, automated warehousing, order processing, marketing and sales, military command and control, and message switching and data communications. Howard has written several publications, presented at professional conferences, and received two corporate chairman awards for distinguished service. Robert J. Truck, Senior Consultant
Bob is nationally and internationally renowned for his knowledge of Logistics and Traffic Management and Regulatory Compliance as well as his expert teaching skills. He is recognized by the National Institute of Logistical Management as an expert in all aspects of Hazardous Materials handling, transport and storage. Bob's formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts in economics and a Master of Arts degree in History from Temple University, and both a Business Certificate and Advanced Business Certificate from Villanova University. He also holds a Transportation Certificate from the Academy of Advanced Traffic. In addition, Bob currently holds the following titles: director and adjunct instructor at the Institute of Logistical Management; adjunct instructor at Kings College; Vice Chairman of Pottsville Redevelopment Authority; Secretary/Treasurer of the National Association of Purchasing Management, rail subcommittee; and Chairman of the National Association of Purchasing Management, Logistics and Transportation Group.

Glen Veno, CMC, Senior Consultant
Glen is a certified management consultant with over 18 years experience. He has been involved in the design, development and implementation of both manual and computerized maintenance systems for more than 80 clients across the US, Canada, Mexico and Venezuela. Glen's consulting assignments span numerous industries with extensive work in chemical processing, automotive manufacturing, utilities and pharmaceuticals. He holds a BS in Aviation Technology and Management from Western Michigan University and is a member of numerous professional organizations including APICS, Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD).

Michael Walsh, CPIM, QI, Senior Associate
Michael is an APICS Qualified Instructor for all CPIM modules, AMES, and Train-The-Trainer and is a frequent speaker at chapter meetings, regional/ national conferences and workshops. Mike is also Founder and President of the Quality Solutions Group. Since 1996, QSG - the business education, training and Development Company has specialized in LEAN Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Materials Requirements Planning, Just-In-Time, Strategic Quality Management, ISO 9000-2000, Supplier Certification and Presentation /Learning Skills Development. Michael has over 25 years experience in various types of management, as a consultant, practitioner and educator. His operating and management experience includes materials, purchasing, quality, inventory control, logistics, production and security.

John W. Wanat, Senior Consultant
Mr. Wanat is a consultant with more than 30 years experience in management, operations, research and development, design, product and manufacturing engineering. He has an extensive track record in project management, reliability and predictive and preventive maintenance, and of increasing revenues, productivity, efficiency and profitability through the development of products, systems and processes. As a strong leader and communicator John has the ability to initiate and implement change while maintaining a positive environment. He worked and consulted in the electronics, printing, aerospace, automotive and utilities sectors. He is a former member of ASME and ASTME and holds a patent for ‘Power Connector System for Daughter Cards in Card Cages’. He is a retired pilot/Lt. Colonel from the USAF and Pennsylvania ANG and holds an AS in Mechanical Engineering from Wentworth Institute and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Lowell Technological Institute.

R. Kevin Wells, Senior Consultant
Kevin is a proven CIP expert with significant industry experience and more than seven years as a independent consultant. His work experience began in engineering supervision and management capacities in a variety of industries where he was responsible for cost saving initiatives. Kevin's work experience included participating in the development of a World Class Manufacturing Plan, the implementation of which included the use of DOE, FMEA, JIT, and SPC techniques and methods. As a consultant, he has worked on numerous projects that achieved results including 60% reduced down time, reduced cycle time from 30 months to 18 months, and annual scrap savings of $5M. Kevin achieved these savings through the use of behavior modification and management training in process control software development and integrating Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a BSME, Kevin also holds an MBA from Troy State University. He is a current member of American Production and Inventory Control Society and past member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Society of Automotive Engineers, and American Management Associations. Kevin holds a patent for the development of an industrial food-processing machine and has been published in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Management newsletter.

Dave Zack, Senior Consultant
Dave is a senior consultant with over 24 years of professional experience and is a subject matter expert (SME) in Continuous Maintenance Improvement/Excellence with Reliability Centered Maintenance Engineering and Reliability Centered Maintenance Implementation. Dave has a thorough understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance methods. He is skilled in all aspects of process safety management, training, maintenance supervision, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), project design, reliability and predictive/preventive maintenance, conditioned based testing (e.g. vibration analysis, thermography, etc.), FMEAs, FMECAs, RCFA, criticality, maintenance performance measurement and control systems, craft training, root cause failure analysis, maintenance planning and scheduling, and maintenance best practices. Dave obtained a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the State University of New York.
