A leading bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing company constructed a 116,000 square foot mammalian cell culture production and purification facility. As part of the process of defining new systems and building various functional groups needed for commissioning and on-going operations, Daniel Penn Associates was brought in to expeditiously perform an assessment of the organization.

Working with key client representatives, three DPA consultants performed an evaluation to develop staffing requirements and recommend an organizational structure that would best support a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The interview process encompassed numerous functional departments including purchasing, construction, engineering, manufacturing, systems support, quality control, inventory control, and operations management. The result was the creation of a detailed database that automatically developed the staffing guide now in use for planning purposes.
