U.S. General Services Administration Contract
Daniel Penn Awarded
Warehouse Analysis Contract
Hartford, CT - October 14, 2004
The U.S. Government has awarded
a warehouse analysis contract to Daniel Penn Associates (DPA),
a Hartford-based management consulting firm. The U.S. General
Services Administration (GSA) has a requirement to increase the
operational efficiency and space utilization of their general supply
warehouse in Anchorage, AK. Daniel Penn Associates was chosen to
perform the warehouse analysis and to provide recommendations as
to operational and productivity improvements, warehouse reconfiguration,
and equipment and warehouse layout.
“We’re very pleased to be helping the government improve
their warehouse operations and plans for future growth,” said
Mr. Tony Rodriguez, DPA’s president. “It’s important
for the government to conduct their warehouse and inventory operations
in an efficient and cost effective manner, and to plan for future
growth. We’re pleased to be chosen as their partner and to
bring our considerable warehousing knowledge and experience to
bear on this effort.”
The GSA’s Global Supply Alaska warehouse provides goods
and materials to both military and civilian agencies of the federal
government throughout the state of Alaska. This study addresses
the need to better utilize existing space, to improve business
methods and processes, to prepare to handle more throughput with
faster turn-around time, and to improve responsiveness to customer
needs. Potential factors to be considered include staffing, storage
venues, automation and material handling equipment, automated data
identification and capture techniques, material flow, and business
processes and practices.
Daniel Penn Associates is a minority owned and operated management
consulting firm with a proven track record of helping clients reduce
costs, improve performance and achieve true competitive advantage.
Since 1978, DPA has served private industry and government with
