GSA Approval

Daniel Penn Associates Receives GSA Approval

Hartford, CT – December 5, 2000

The United States General Services Administration named Daniel Penn Associates (DPA), a management consulting firm headquartered here, to its select federal agency contractors list.

"This is a lengthy and rigorous process from solicitation to the selection of vendors. Applicants are carefully reviewed in key areas such as appropriate pricing, technical qualifications, past performance, as well as a Dun & Bradstreet rating," said Ms. Lisa Norgren of the GSA’s management service center in Washington State. "Daniel Penn Associates joins a select group of GSA contractors who have met its stringent approval requirements to do business with other government agencies worldwide."

GSA is the government’s chief acquisition agency and spends billions of dollars annually on products and services. It also assists other federal agencies to buy from its contracted vendors, such as DPA. GSA approval streamlines the up-front purchasing process for federal agencies saving time and money. DPA was included on a recently developed category called Logistics Worldwide, which offers various management consulting, training and administrative services. User agencies can reduce administrative burden and speed the purchasing process by contacting DPA electronically on the GSA’s Web site.

"GSA’s approval reinforces our reputation in the management consulting industry as a hands-on, results driven, successful and experienced firm," said Antonio R. Rodriguez, DPA president. "We welcome the opportunity to provide quality services to Federal agencies so they can improve productivity, customer satisfaction and the bottom line."

In addition to certification by the U.S. Small Business Administration, DPA is officially recognized by the Connecticut Minority Supplier Development Council, a chapter of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc, and Connecticut’s Contractor Set-Aside Program.

DPA’s selection to the GSA’s logistics category focused on three broad areas in which the firm has demonstrated expertise:

Supply and Value Chain Management, including such services as planning, inventory management, process improvement, operations and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs to support logistics systems;
Acquisition Logistics, which involves the logistics management discipline supporting a product or system through its lifecycle; and
Logistics Training Services, which includes training in a variety of such specialized courses such as Transportation Law, E-Commerce, IATA (International Air Transport Association) certification, and OSHA compliance.

In addition to its expertise in Logistics and traditional management consulting services, DPA offers its national and International client list over 22 years experience in numerous industries, including manufacturing, financial services and utilities. This past April, Dun & Bradstreet rated DPA’s performance as "outstanding" in such specific areas as timeliness of delivery, problem responsiveness, quality of purchased services, total cost, technical knowledge and support, delivery and attitude of personnel.
