Daniel Penn Associates to Help Greater Hartford Transit District With Federal DBE Filing

Hartford, CT – April 30, 2007

The Greater Hartford Transit District has awarded a contract to Daniel Penn Associates to help them revise and finalize their FY2007 and prepare their FY2008 Federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goals. These DBE goals are a requirement of the U.S. Department of Transportation for any agency that receives federal transportation funding.

“The continuation of the good work that the District provides the greater Hartford area requires the District to position itself for maximum availability of Federal funds,” said Mr. Tony Rodriguez, DPA’s president. “We’re very pleased to be asked to help the District set its goals to achieve maximum federal funding.”

As a minority-owned and Hartford-based consulting firm, Daniel Penn Associates will work closely with the District to help them identify DBE goals, including goods and services sourced to DBE firms, availability of DBE firms, race-neutral and race-conscious goals, trends and spending patterns, outreach efforts, and understanding federal regulations that pertain to DBE goals. Daniel Penn Associates will also coordinate and assist in conducting a public forum to review and discuss the revised District DBE goal.
