Daniel Penn Associates President Tony Rodriguez Returns to Israel On 300 - Mile Cycling Fundraiser
For Peace and Environmental Protection
Tony Rodriguez, president of Daniel Penn Associates
is in Isreal during the next two weeks for his second year of participation in a 300 mile bike
ride through the Negev Desert to benefit The Arava Institute for Environmental Studies (arava.org)
and Hazon (hazon.org).
Located on Kibbutz Ketura, just north of the Red Sea, The Arava Institute brings Jewish, Christian,
and Moslem students and professors from the Middle East, North America and around the world
to study desert ecology and help protect this ancient, fragile region. Students of diverse
backgrounds and religions come together to talk and learn about the environment, and build
bridges of understanding and cooperation in the Middle East.
Located in Manhattan, Hazon (meaning “vision” in Hebrew) works to increase the
Jewish community’s support of sustainable environmental practices through outdoor activity
and education about world food issues.
Those interested in making a tax deductible contribution to Rodriguez’ fundraising effort
for these two organizations may visit http://arava.kintera.org/2008springisraelride/tonyrod52.
Contributions may be made until July 31. For more information, visit israelride.org.
