Daniel Penn Associates Wins Merck Contract

Hartford, CT – April 9, 2001

Daniel Penn Associates (DPA), a management consultant firm based here, today announced award of a contract from Merck & Co., Inc. to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its maintenance operation at its 208-acre, Rahway/Linden, NJ research and manufacturing complex.

The pharmaceutical company’s Rahway/Linden operation consists of more than 100 buildings and four manufacturing facilities producing intermediate and finished drug products, including one of Merck’s largest research and development sites. DPA will address all issues that have an impact on the maintenance function including, organization, systems, processes, work planning and scheduling, and communications. The initial phase is anticipated to take six months.
