An Auburn, Michigan-based manufacturer of engineered die cut, molded and packaged components for auto manufacturers worldwide needed to reduce transportation and Customs costs for its Monterrey facility, which caters to OEM and tier supplier customers in Mexico. After conducting an analysis of the company’s current importation and transportation program, and surveying customs brokers and carriers in both Laredo, Texas and northern Mexico, Daniel Penn Associates recommended a program of consolidation, re-negotiation and vendor changes that, when implemented, will generate 58% in annual cost savings for the company.
