Daniel Penn Associates Wins Contract
with Schering-Plough Corporation

Daniel Penn Associates (DPA), a management consultant firm based here, today announced award of a contract with Schering-Plough Corporation to improve the effectiveness of maintenance practices within the Central Maintenance function.

The focus of the engagement is to identify, define and quantify improvements in maintenance practices that will generate enhancements in:

		Planning and scheduling work management processes;
		Workload assignment and execution management;
		Coordinating work execution with production schedules and needs;
		Finding opportunities for workload leveling;
		Integrating the use of spare parts to the disciplines of planning and scheduling; and
		Improving the quality of overall maintenance practices.

Consistent with its hands-on approach to consulting, DPA's continuous improvement process will include interviews; data gathering and analysis; work study observations; backlog reviews; process mapping; performance measure reviews; workload management studies; documentation and work order analysis; performance measures reviews, and root cause analyses.

Phase I of DPA's engagement with Schering-Plough will result in a detail report outlining findings and conclusion, recommendations and an implementation plan for moving forward. DPA will then provide implementation support as necessary and requested.
