establishing a contract. Course addresses unique characteristics of materials,
transportation, warehousing and third party logistics contracts and functions; and
strategies for success in effective buying techniques.

Rail Supply Chain Management
Imparts working knowledge of the current and upcoming technology in supply chain
management and vendor managed inventory programs for the rail mode. Demonstrates new
services and systems for managing the rail mode; practical examples of rail supply chain
management in a variety of industries; and Internet applications of customer service in
rail.

Domestic Logistics/Traffic Management
Academic and practical knowledge on all five (5) modes of transportation. Discussions
on reducing transportation costs, improve transportation efficiency and service, negotiate
with carriers and manage transportation within a deregulated environment.

Electronic Commerce Opportunities in Logistics
Practical knowledge of opportunities using Internet and Intranet applications to
improve logistics performance.

International Logistics/Traffic Management
Present academic and practical knowledge to reduce international transportation costs
and increase service in the global marketplace. This course is designed for those who are
trying to master the variety of modes, procedures, and intermediaries, regulations and
services available to the domestic company conducting business internationally.
