Process Reengineering for Increased Manufacturing Efficiency (PRIME)

Connecticut manufacturers: Here’s a proven, no-cost or low-cost method to reduce your facility’s wasted resources and energy.

As certified consultants for the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund’s PRIME (Process Reengineering for Increased Manufacturing Efficiency) program, Daniel Penn Associates works with your company’s teams to conduct Lean events at your business. The goals? Streamline product flows, reduce waste, optimize processes and improve efficiency to reduce the cost of your supply chain and enhance your competitiveness.

How does the PRIME Program work?

Who is eligible for Connecticut’s PRIME Program?
  • Connecticut businesses served by Eversource or United Illuminating (UI) on commercial/industrial electric rates.
  • Manufacturers and other energy-intensive facilities, as well as large commercial, institutional, and municipal sites.
  • Facilities are willing to create an internal cross-functional team and implement identified improvements.
  • Gas savings opportunities may also be addressed if an eligible gas utility serves your facility.
How can my company benefit?
  • Utility-subsidized expert guidance: PRIME underwrites much of the cost to bring in Daniel Penn Associates to find and fix process deficiencies and waste.
  • Measurable improvements and cost reductions: Streamlined processes that often start with no- and low-cost actions.
  • Productivity gains: Lean/continuous-improvement methods reduce downtime, improve throughput and quality, and strengthen process reliability.
  • Staff capability building: On-the-job training, Kaizen events, and standard work help your team sustain results.
  • Roadmap to bigger savings: Create a prioritized pipeline of operational changes and other projects that may qualify for additional utility incentives.
How can the PRIME program help me realize cost savings for my facility?
