Daniel Penn Associates and Facilitiesmart partner with Brookhaven National Labs to study indoor air quality solutions to combat viruses
Hartford, Conn., December 9, 2021 — While the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us some things about how infected air travels indoors, ongoing improvements based on research can help reduce COVID-carrying aerosols or droplets within diverse indoor environments.
To evaluate conditions that lead to or mitigate risk – and examine best practices that can lead to new indoor shared air quality standards – Brookhaven National Laboratory, Daniel Penn Associates (DPA), and Facilitiesmart recently completed a report that translates information from numerous aerosol-transmission studies into guidance that may be used to improve indoor air quality. The study, funded by a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) contract, will be forthcoming pending DOE review.
